Introduction to Criminal Justice Topic: Death Penalty(For or Against the Use of the Death Penalty) Stance: You can choose how you argue the paper. You can argue for the continued use of the Death Penalty (FOR) or for the Abolishment of the Death Penalty (AGAINST) There must be 5 citations and they can be in the MLA or APA You can use books, government reports, newspaper articles, web articles, interviews, etc. PAPERS THAT HAVE BIBLIOGRAPHY OR CITED SOURCES. Suggestions Over the course of the semester, as we delve into the Criminal Justice System, you will learn about Prosecution, Defense, Judges, the Supreme Court, Trial Process, etc. The overall goal is to take everything you have learned at molecular level and expand it globally (ie: Letter v. Spirit of the Law, Amendments of the Constitution, Human Rights). I STRONGLY suggest, regardless of the stance of your paper, that during your research you research the opposing side to anticipate what the other side will argue and to mitigate those argments. As in Trials, there is disclosure, evidence has to be shared and there are no surprises. Information is available on both sides of the argument. It is on you to research your stance and if you so chose, to research the other stance. This is NOT an opinion paper. It is an evidence piece. The intent is to get you to understand how to do research and defend that stance, based on the research, whether you agree with it or not.
